Marriage

Focuses on the holistic approach of family systems and how the family dynamic affects individuals within the family context.  We create a treatment plan designed to identify family value systems, strengths within those systems as well as replacing  destructive family systems.

Family

Focuses on repairing or rebuilding issues within the relationship. Often times we loose site of the things that are most important. We create a treatment plan designed to restore communication, identify faulty thinking patterns, and build trust.

Helena Collins, LPC, CCATP

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have been in practice for 5 years. I love working with clients from all walks of life. I hold a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Prairie View A&M Univerisity. I am also a Certified School Counselor, and a Certified Anger Resloution Therapist. I love spending time with my daughter and my spouse. I enjoy traveling, eating, and reading. 

My Approach & Philosophy

I am a compassionate and perceptive listener, offering you a healing space with focus on solutions. Gifted in establishing rapport quickly, My approach focuses on empathetic guidance, identification of client strengths, and replacing destructive patterns. I specialize in treating adults struggling with anxiety and depression, suicidal ideation, divorce and relationship concerns, identity issues, anger and low self-esteem. With previous experience as a School Counselor and Teacher, I also have a passion for working with adolescents, and teenagers ages 15 and up.
I enjoy working with individual clients of all ages, offering couples counseling, family counseling and parenting consultations. I can help with teen anxiety and depression, anger, and ADHD.
I believe in fostering awareness and insight through self-empowerment, identification of strengths, and empathetic guidance. I ascribe to evidence based practices including Solution-Focused therapy, Creative Art Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am looking forward to working with you!
